Frederick the Great/Frederick II

Frederick the Great
Frederick the Great

King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786
Frederick II was Catholic.
He inherited the throne from his father after he died, even thought they did not get along. Frederick William, Frederick II's dad, did not like how Frederick the Great loved music, philosophy, and poetry. Frederick the Great ran away, and as a punishment he had to watch his friend get beheaded.
The honest Frederick the Great had a positive impact on Prussia, even though at the beginning of his rule he lost against Maria Theresa. Frederick II had wanted some of the resources in Silesia. The sympathetic Frederick the Great was also one of the first people to make a treaty with America.
He is most known for his military success. Frederick the Great wanted what was best for Prussia.
